Al-Qaeda warns of suicide bombings in Mumbai, Delhi, UP and Gujarat to ‘fight the honor of the prophet’

Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) has issued a letter warning of suicide bombings in Indian cities to avenge the insult to the Prophet Muhammad.

In the June 6 threatening letter, the AQIS said it will carry out suicide bombings in Delhi, Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat to “fight the honor of the Prophet”. All states have been notified of the threat by the intelligence services and have been asked to be very vigilant.

The threat statement said: “saffron terrorists must now await their end in Delhi and Bombay and in UP and Gujarat”

“They will find no refuge in their homes, nor in their fortified army quarters. May our mothers be robbed of us if we do not avenge our beloved Prophet.”

“We will kill those who insult our Prophet and we will strap explosives with our bodies and the bodies of our children to blast away the ranks of those who dare to dishonor our Prophet… [They] will find no amnesty or leniency, no peace and security will save them and this case will not be closed with words of condemnation or sorrow,” it added.

The threat statement stated “Hindutva terrorists occupying India” and said: “we will fight for the dignity of our prophet, we will urge others to fight and die for the honor of our prophet,”

The threatening letter refers to the controversial remarks made against Prophet Mohammad by BJP spokesman Nupur Sharma, who has been suspended by the party. The comments called for the condemnation of more than a dozen Gulf states.
