What to watch on Netflix
The man from Toronto
Buddy cop movies may feel a little dated but buddy Assassin movies are in fashion now. The man from Toronto thinks Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson are working together; Hart stars as Teddy, an entrepreneur of dubious fitness products, who finds himself mistaken for Randy, Woody Harrelson’s ultra-violent hit man. They must work together to achieve Randy’s goal and keep Teddy alive in this international plot. It’s an action-packed comedy full of flaws in which Kaley Cuoco also stars as a late-game player. The man from Toronto premieres Friday 24 Junee†
Beauty
Beauty is a wonderfully specific movie to close out Pride Month. Written and produced by Lena Waithe, this film is about the life of a young woman named Beauty who finds herself on the brink of fame and fortune in the music industry of the 1980s. She struggles with the dueling tensions of her protective parents (played by Niecy Nash and Giancarlo Esposito), a pressured record executive (Sharon Stone), and the love she has for her friend. It’s an intricate, deeply human story about the price of success and the trials and tribulations of following your passion. Beauty premiere Wednesday 29 Junee†

Chloe
From flea bag until Good omensBritish imports have been big for Amazon. Chloe, a BBC hit from earlier this year, seems to continue that pattern. This miniseries concocts a strange and disturbing murder mystery from a woman’s obsessive social media tendencies. The series follows shy twenty-something Becky, a young woman who lives vicariously through others on Instagram. When the woman behind one of her favorite accounts, Chloe, dies suddenly, Becky infiltrates her life, from her circle of friends to her yoga classes. By living like Chloe, she discovers a new zest for life, albeit one that revolves around her investigation of a suspicious sudden death. Chloe premieres Friday 24 Junee†
Revolutionary way
Did you know that Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are in? another romantic drama na Titanic† Revolutionary way sees the actors again in a historical setting, this time as a 1950s couple getting caught up in all the toxic gender dynamics you’d expect in a mid-century house. Leo is the overworked, cheating husband, while Kate is the increasingly neurotic housewife who hates her suburban life. The rest of the cast is packed with dramatic hard hitters like Michael Shannon, Kathy Bates, Kathryn Hahn and David Harbour. It’s a devastating take on the American Dream, one that stays with you long after the end credits. Revolutionary way can be streamed until Thursday 30 Junee†

west world
Television’s biggest puzzle returns this week, and while it’s very different from how it started, west world still packs a fascinating punch. Season 4 picks up several years after the previous finale, with several returning faces – if not characters. Evan Rachel Wood’s Dolores has transitioned into the big robot after this, although the actress now appears as the new (human?) character Christina. Jeffrey Wright is still figuring out the scientific aspects of things, Ed Harris is menacing as ever, James Marsden is coming back, Tessa Thompson, Thandiwe Newton and Aaron Paul are teaming up – slash – gets bottled, and Oscar winner Ariana DeBose is too jump aboard! west world Season 4 premieres on Sunday, June 26e†

loot
In a world of highly public divorces from billionaires à la the Gates and the Bezos, loot acknowledges that the female boss’s story about multimillionaire ex-wives is a little more complicated — and a lot funnier — than you might think. National treasure Maya Rudolph stars as Molly, a woman divorcing her tech giant, played by Adam Scott. In an effort to restore her image, she turns her attention to a charitable foundation that has been quietly running in her name for years, staffed by the likes of Mj Rodriguez, Joel Kim Booster, Ron Funches and Nat Faxon. It’s a workplace comedy that taunts the 0.000001%, which is always welcome in this day and age. loot premieres Friday 24 Junee†
